Why Foster?
Fostering is the most rewarding part of animal rescue (in addition to adopting, of course!). By fostering, you are truly saving a life. DSDA cannot take in more dogs until additional foster homes open up. As a foster, you play THE biggest part in a homeless dog’s journey of finding their forever home & family. The experience will change your heart forever. Please complete an application and our Foster Coordinator will be in contact with you soon.

Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address.

Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household.

Vet checks are required. All resident animals must be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative (if applicable).

Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting.

Foster is home more than not.

Home visit is required. For this reason, we can only accept fosters that live locally in the Dallas area.
